Andrew has got off to a busy start in 2010. Having launched his latest series of 'Questions in the House' meetings he has been busy with people calling him to arrange more meetings at their homes in the High Peak.
Andrew said, "the bookings started off slowly, but they have gathered pace now. I think as the General Election gets nearer people are becoming more engaged with politics. The Questions in the House idea involves me visiting people's homes across the High Peak to take questions from them and their friends on any subject they wish. I enjoy the events enormously as it is a great opportunity to speak to people directly about whatever issue is worrying them the most. The success thus far does show that people do care passionately about the issues and do feel that they want to be heard."
He added, "I am more than happy to fit these meeting in at anytime to suit people, in fact I have just taken my first booking for a Saturday night. Politicians, actual or aspiring, are too often seen as remote and disconnected, this idea brings politics right into people’s own front rooms when they want and how they want, as opposed just through the television set."
Andrew concluded, "the diary is filling up rapidly, but I would ask people to get in touch if they would like to host a Questions in the House event as there are still available slots and I am determined that no one is refused a slot."
