For personal reasons the blog has not been updated for a while. I will resume the blog entries from today. Thank you for your patience over the last few weeks and all the good wishes, cards and letters received by myself and the family. It has been exceptionally heart warming. Thank you.

 | THE SUN SUPPORTS THE CONSERVATIVES |

After 12 years of steadfast support for the New Labour project, the country's biggest selling newspaper, The Sun has today stated that it belived that the Conservatives are the Party that has the answers for the problems that Britain faces today. This support coms the day after Gordon Brown's speech at the Labour Party conference where he spoke to his party but not really to the nation.

 A very sad day for many people as it is Cynthia's funeral. A packed church heard her daughter Francine give a wonderful eulogy about her Mum. Containing laughter and tears it evoked the memories that many of us will carry of Cynthia for a very long time. I will miss her greatly as I know will many other people. |

 | SAFER COMMUNITIES BOARD MEETING |

As the Council representative on the SCB I attended the meeting in Ripley. The main thrust of the agenda is crime and safety. Whilst we are lucky to live in a low crime area, there are a few statistics that we need to watch, especially around acquisitive crime and also admissions to hospital due to alcohol related reasons. Our figures are small and therefore easily distorted, however it is no reason for complacency.
